EcoEMOS SCADA increases the efficiency of the entire production process
Bietigheim-Bissingen, December 2015 – Thanks to Dürr’s years of experience in plant engineering for the automotive industry, EcoEMOS is perfectly adapted to the requirements of OEMs. The modular architecture of this supervisory control system enables the range of functions to be tailored to all areas of production. By including data recording and evaluation, the user is provided with important information on the causes of downtimes. Monitoring is highly flexible thanks to the integration of mobile devices such as tablets or smart phones.
It is not just the number of automotive plants that has grown in recent years. The interaction between a growing number of systems and devices results in an increased complexity in the production line. In the past a power connection was all that was needed; nowadays each device is integrated into a factory-wide network. Every component is expected to communicate with each other and be constantly monitored. This interaction is enabled by the EcoEMOS SCADA module.
Employees can view the system status in real time in a central control room. In addition, they are able to switch connected devices on and off, monitor their consumption and transmit alerts. Information such as the failure log book for special plant components or the entire line can be easily selected and evaluated. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like the mean time between failures (MTBF) are automatically calculated and displayed for the user in a clear format.
The integrated account management provides individual users with any information that may be relevant to them. EcoEMOS automatically prepares individual reports in the form of tables or charts.
As all plant downtime is costly, EcoEMOS SCADA also offers functions for identifying the related causes, thus helping employees to react accordingly. The calculation of the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) provides a concise overview of the availability and performance of the plant as well as product quality.
As a core module of all EcoEMOS systems, SCADA has been used in 20 countries and more than 80 plants. In total, it controls and records the annual production of more than eight million vehicles.
