Dürr opens sixth training center for paint systems
Chennai, May 2015 – Dürr has six training centers for paint systems around the world, the most recent addition being Chennai (India). A seventh training center is currently being established in South Korea. The centers allow customers to send their employees for expert training on how to operate painting robots and, in some cases, also on vehicle sealing.
The training center in Chennai, which was officially opened on April 9, 2015, is equipped with Dürr’s EcoRP L033 painting robot. During training, participants learn about the structure of the robots and the electrical control cabinets to which they are connected. In addition, they can familiarize themselves with the EcoRPC robot control system. In this way, they gain a greater insight into how the equipment works and are able to respond appropriately in all cases.
Other Dürr application technology products – such as pumps, hand-held spray guns (EcoGun), automatic rotary atomizers (EcoBell2), color changers (EcoLCC) and economical paint supply systems – are also presented. In addition to receiving practical instructions on how to teach, operate and maintain the robots, the participants also learn about Eco+Paintshop. This term covers all the components of Dürr’s sustainable paint system for enhancing quality and lowering unit costs.
Chennai also has a showroom featuring Dürr products. In addition to a model of the EcoDryScrubber for dry separation of overspray, Dürr also presents a current collector (one component of the rotational dip process Ecopaint RoDip) and a model of the modular exhaust-gas purification system Ecopure® VAR.
With its innovations, Dürr has set new standards in efficient production and holds an excellent position in the emerging markets in particular. The new training center in India shows how the German mechanical and plant engineering company is further improving its local service for customers. Their employees now no longer have to be flown to other countries for training, thus saving time and money.
The Dürr training centers provide training for customers’ employees as well as for the company’s own staff. They also undergo regular training to ensure that customers receive good service.
The opening ceremony in Chennai was attended by representatives from many prestigious Indian and international automotive OEMs. They learned that the training center with a floor area of 4,300 square meters had been constructed within only six months. Dürr India has already conducted its first training sessions and received very good feedback from customers.
