Optimizing production worldwide
Montabaur, October 2016 – iTAC joined the Dürr Group at the end of last year. The company from Montabaur in Germany is one of the largest suppliers of manufacturing execution systems (MES). This technology enables the networking and control of entire factories, including their machines and systems, throughout the world. As a central software system, MES forms the basis of integrated manufacturing in the age of Industry 4.0.
Together, iTAC and the experts of Dürr's EcoEMOS system want to further develop their manufacturing execution software and promote the connectivity of global industry.
Since its foundation in 1998, iTAC has specialized in electronically connecting machines, systems and entire factories. One of the favorite terms of company founder and Board member Dieter Meuser is "tracking". With the help of system interfaces, iTAC software tracks every last detail of what happens in a factory – from the delivery of parts and pre-manufacturing through to the final assembly of electronic components, engine control units, turbochargers and other products.
Predicting maintenance requirements
Permanent tracking leads to big data. The software processes and analyzes these huge datasets, providing factory operators with the information necessary to optimize their production. Maintenance requirements can also be identified and scheduled at an early stage.
iTAC's workforce, currently consisting of around 100 employees, develop and manage programs, and travel around the world to support customers in using the software.
There is one project which iTAC is particularly proud of. The company has linked together 14 factories around the world for an international electrical engineering group based in Germany, enabling staff to access thousands of data for each plant from their screen in real time. The customer can click on individual locations on a world map, then view the factory buildings and their different production systems. Authorized users can access a total of 4,200 machines and systems.
