Dürr acquires KBA-CleanAir
Bietigheim-Bissingen, March 2017 – Dürr Group acquired the KBA-CleanAir section of KBA-MetalPrint GmbH in Stuttgart (Germany). By so doing, Dürr is strengthening its market position in exhaust air purification technology and expanding the technology portfolio of its Clean Technology Systems environmental technology division. KBA-CleanAir was an independent company in the market prior to its acquisition, primarily offering thermally regenerative exhaust air purification systems for the printing and coating industries.
For Dr. Jochen Weyrauch, Dürr AG Board member and responsible for the Clean Technology Systems division, the acquisition of KBA-CleanAir is a further step in the strategic expansion of Dürr’s activities in the field of exhaust air purification technology. "This acquisition gives us access to innovative technologies which round off our portfolio. Even customers from other industries can now benefit from Dürr's worldwide service organization with its helpdesk and 24/7 service hotline, as well as from the innovative strength of an MDAX company. We are pleased to welcome the experienced and competent KBA-CleanAir employees to our team."
In the meantime the KBA-CleanAir employees moved to the Dürr headquarters, located a few miles away in Bietigheim-Bissingen (Germany). From here, service coverage for KBA-CleanAir systems is completely guaranteed.
"We continue to provide dedicated advice and support to our customers in repairing, modifying and modernizing their existing systems", confirms Dieter Aldinger, former KBA-CleanAir sales employee who now works for Dürr.
KBA-CleanAir offered efficient systems for purifying solvent-laden and strong-smelling exhaust air. These are now available under the Dürr brand with immediate effect. The thermal exhaust air purification systems are primarily used in the metal packaging and printing industries as well as in dye and paint manufacturing, coating, and the chemicals industry. KBA-CleanAir enjoyed good market access, particularly in Europe. It has also successfully completed orders in Asia in recent years.
KBA-CleanAir recorded turnover of almost € 10 million in 2016. KBA-Metalprint GmbH, the company under which KBA-CleanAir formerly operated, is a subsidiary of the press manufacturer Koenig & Bauer. Dürr took over the assets of KBA-CleanAir as part of an asset deal with effect from December 1, 2016.
