Precisely balanced for smooth running
Darmstadt, April 2014 – Schenck RoTec now operates four balancing centers in Germany alone. This, combined with centers in seven other countries, provides a unique European network. Here, qualified experts work on solutions for customers in automotive industry, in the electrical and electronic as well as aircraft and aerospace industries, in engine construction and engineering. They balance components of all conventional weight classes.
Covering a range from 1.0 gram to 50 tons, they check individual rotors or entire components, balance both small and large series, and eliminate vibration directly on site (field balancing). The specialist areas of the Schenck RoTec experts include the precision balancing of tiny rotors down to a residual unbalance of a few micrograms as well as the balancing of large rotors, all based on customized and highly economical processes.
The dense service network and lean processes ensure very short execution times. Balancing can even take place overnight or in the presence of the customer if requested.
The Schenck RoTec balancing centers are equipped with cutting-edge technology and always benefit from the newest solutions in balancing technology. This enables the service experts to provide sound consultancy services in the earliest stages of development and research projects. If required, they also take on the role of the extended workbench for customers experiencing capacity bottlenecks during serial production. Those who want their components to undergo sophisticated strength and burst tests will also get qualified results here (spin testing service). And the periodic monitoring of master and setting rotors as well as bias and test weights (e.g. for crankshafts) can be conducted at the accredited laboratory.
Balancing is a key step in ensuring the quality of rotors of all types – regardless of the industry and the stage of its “product career”. It is a crucial factor when it comes to the precision, performance and life span of rotating components. Whether shaft, roller or tool, flywheel, turbocharger or pump impeller – only precisely balanced rotors stand a chance in today’s competitive market.
The Schenck RoTec balancing and spin testing service is certified to DIN EN ISO 9001, DIN EN ISO 14001 as well as VDA 6.4 and Ford Q1.
