Smart product: Green: all ok, yellow: maintenance required, red: replace pump immediately
Bietigheim-Bissingen, October 2016 – Thanks to the use of integrated pressure sensors, the new software offers the following feature: at the push of a button, Dürr's EcoPump9 dosing pump displays its current status using the traffic light system. The green light means: the system is performing. Yellow indicates maintenance work is required and a spare part has to be procured. If the red light shows, the pump may no longer be used. This intelligent EcoPump9 control is an example of our smart products from the "digital@DÜRR" strategy.
The EcoPump9 is a well-established gearwheel dosing pump on the market, suitable for all 1 and 2-component paints typically used in the painting process. Its new software has turned it into a smart pump, which makes it much easier for the operating and maintenance staff, and reduces painting issues. The sensor-based pressure control ensures a consistent flow rate and thus achieves even paint thickness. Dosing pumps without this software require regular manual gauging to set the dosing quantity and determine the degree of wear – a task carried out in the booth and outside production times.
The smart pump software ensures that the inlet and outlet pressures of the EcoPump9 are virtually identical. The automatic differential pressure adjustment provides consistent dosing accuracy across the entire dosing range and all paint systems, throughout the service life of the system. The software extends the service life of the pump considerably.
High first-run rate
Another software feature ensures the automatic parameterization of response times between the main needle of the atomizer and the EcoPump9, thus reducing the number of paint or system failures. This in turn improves the availability of the paint shop and increases its first-run rate.
The intelligent EcoPump9 is state of the art at Dürr. Since the beginning of 2016 its smart features have become an integral part of the paint shop.
