The 1,000th EcoBell Cleaner D2 will be Mexican
Querétaro, December 2017 – Dürr's EcoBell Cleaner D2 cleans the paint atomizer fully automatically using minimal cleaning agent, and twice as fast as its predecessor. Customers around the world have been impressed by its strengths. The 1,000th unit of this award-winning product will be used in a state-of-the-art paint shop of a German car manufacturer in Mexico from mid-2018 – with a gleaming distinctive feature.
The EcoBell Cleaner D2 completes the cleaning process in just 15 seconds – the time it usually takes until the next car body is ready for painting. During this time, rotating nozzles spray cleaning agent onto the atomizer. This process is accelerated by compressed air, thus delivering a clean result using less cleaning agent. The EcoBell Cleaner D2 model uses no more than 50 ml of cleaning agent instead of the roughly 500 ml used by its predecessor, EcoBell Cleaner D. This reduction also lowers its VOC emissions by more than 90 percent.
Once cleaned, the atomizer is dried by a blower ring. Paint and cleaning agent residues flow into a container for disposal.
A total of 36 EcoBell Cleaner D2 units will contribute to an efficient and sustainable production at the Mexican site of the German car manufacturer. Equipped with a golden housing lid and the cover bearing the words "1,000th EcoBell Cleaner D2" the milestone model was handed over to the customer by the product managers at the Bietigheim-Bissingen headquarters.
In 2016 the EcoBell Cleaner D2 also impressed the jury of the SURCAR International Awards. Dürr's fully automated solution received the coveted award for the Technological Innovation subcategory and for Paint Consumption.
