Schenck RoTec has developed the innovative VENTUO inflation system for wheel/tire assemblies. It is suitable for inflating up to twelve different tire diameters in one machine. VENTUO features impressively low cycle times and low compressed air consumption.
The magazine on the back is the centerpiece of the new inflation bell. It is equipped with up to six inflation rings, which are moved into position within 1.5 seconds. Each ring covers two inch sizes, thus enabling inflation of tires within a theoretical range of 12 to 23 inches with one VENTUO system. It can also support special rings for particularly critical wheel/tire combinations or replacement rings.
Thanks to the considerably lower volume of the VENTUO adapter rings, the consumption of compressed air is reduced by 10 % compared to conventional telescopic inflation bells. The ECO version offers further potential for savings, thanks to the electromechanical adjustment axes, which lower the consumption of compressed air by another 15%.
The compact VENTUO system only requires half the space of other systems, and it is easy to maintain and to integrate into any existing production line. The cycle time for inflation is seven seconds – a 30% reduction. Schenck RoTec is the only company in the market that can inflate tires in such a short time.
Once the assembly has been inflated, the unbalance of the wheels is measured at the balancing station and then rectified at the correction station by attaching weights. The result is a wheel/tire assembly that ensures maximum quality and smooth running.
Five VENTUO inflation systems for wheel/tire assemblies have already been sold in just six months. A German carmaker was so impressed by the system that it ordered the prototype for its manufacturing plant.
