Dürr Somac filling systems for commercial vehicles, too
September 2013 – Combine harvesters require functioning brakes; forklift truck cabs are more and more commonly air-conditioned. Dürr Somac offers the right filling systems for brake and air-conditioning systems – not just for passenger cars, but also for commercial vehicles. In this field Dürr Somac has gained two new customers in CLAAS Selbstfahrende Erntemaschinen GmbH and Linde Material Handling GmbH.
CLAAS combine harvesters operate day and night and also cover relatively long distances on public roads. The drivers have to be able to rely on safe brakes. Which is where Dürr Somac comes in with its systems.
The brake systems for the combine harvesters are filled in the Harsewinkel plant (in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia). The new station of the product line CompStart with their compact dimensions proved to be very easy to integrate in the assembly line. They guarantee high-quality filling with all vehicle types. In the past CLAAS used an in-house solution for the filling process. Now, however, the harvesting machinery manufacturer relies on Dürr Somac’s proven and efficient know-how.
The winning features of the CompStart filling systems are their small footprint and simple operation. They contain all the components needed for reliable filling with media such as brake fluid, refrigerant and coolant, power steering fluid, engine oil and transmission oil.
CLAAS is highly pleased with the CompStart system. It has already made an enquiry about another brake filling station for the Harsewinkel plant. The customer also plans to use Dürr Somac’s technology in its new plant in Krasnodar, Russia and to trust in the local service network of Dürr Somac.
More and more forklifts around the world are being ordered with a closed cab. At Linde Material Handling this resulted in growing demand and shorter cycle times in its Aschaffenburg plant. As a result of the changed product spectrum, the strategy for filling the air-conditioning systems had to be modified.
In cooperation with Linde, Dürr Somac drew up a new filling concept and integrated a station of the product line Compact in the assembly line. The advantages are that the air-conditioning systems are now filled significantly faster, and the service intervals for the Compact filling system are also considerably longer than those of the previous system. Linde is really convinced of Dürr Somac’s professionalism and therefore also concluded a service agreement with the company.
The intensive contact with Linde meant it was possible to further develop the customer relationship. A Compact radiator filling station has now also been delivered to the Aschaffenburg plant.
