EcoCAgile: A new flexible cleaning system for the Chinese market
March 2013 – Localization and innovation are always driven and accelerated by the customers’ needs and production requirements. That is the reason why Dürr Ecoclean decided to develop a locally built robotic cleaning machine after an intensive research on the Chinese and Indian market in 2012: the EcoCAgile.
Built after a German base design structure and configuration, the team in China took care of the detail adaptation and manufacturing. The result is a totally new robot cell, 100% made in China. The whole product development and realization took less than one year.
The EcoCAgile is exclusively made for the Chinese market, for non-automotive and automotive customers with limited customer specification. Its flexibility is based on a high number of possible processes and the part handling with a fully integrated robot. Processes like injection flood washing (IFW), dedicated washing, high pressure deburring up to 300 bars, compressed air blow-off and vacuum drying are state of the art and lead to high cleanliness quality. The parts to be cleaned by the EcoCAgile are various such as cylinder heads, cylinder blocks, crank shafts and mechatronic and transmission parts. Based on different customers’ requirements, the EcoCAgile can be used as pre-washer and final washer.
Its reference machine is the EcoCFlex Classic, a successful robot cleaning system made in Germany for more than eight years now. The positioning of the EcoCAgile is a significant cost reduction comparing to the imported EcoCFlex Classic and comparable cleaning results made for the local Chinese market. However, the advantages of the EcoCAgile are not limited to this. Compared with the EcoCFlex Classic, the new development has a much smaller footprint, a high level energy efficiency design, less steam and lower noise emission due to submerged high pressure process, a new gripper (faster, smaller, lighter), much better visibility of cleaning process via glass walls from all sides, a FANUC robot without protection jacket, chip scraper conveyor available with or without automatic back flush filter etc.
The machine is specially designed for a part dimension which covers 80% of the market needs in China. This leads to a smaller robot, a smaller footprint and to a very attractive price level. The first contracts with local Chinese automotive customers are already signed. Dürr Ecoclean will launch the EcoCAgile on CIMT 2013 in the Beijing exhibition center in April, 2013.
