Economical and quick to use
September 2012 – Two new compact machines for the quick balancing of turbochargers were presented by Schenck RoTec at Automechanika 2012 in Frankfurt. The TBcomfort and TBsonio ensure the economical and straightforward repair of workshops in the automobile industry as well as in vehicle technology, aeronautics and shipbuilding.
Turbocharges are increasingly becoming a key component in the manufacturing of small-capacity low-consumption and low-emission engines. Even today, one third of the 230 million vehicles registered in Europe are equipped with turbochargers – and the trend is rising sharply.
The TBcomfort is a perfect solution for the pre-balancing of turbine rotors and compressor wheels. It is used to pre-balance turbocharger components and rotor groups weighing up to 16 kg with high accuracy. It can also be loaded with turbochargers for commercial vehicles, construction machines or ship propulsion.
The TBsonio is used for the high-speed balancing of ready-mounted core assemblies. In it, the core assembly is accelerated using compressed air and is balanced under almost real conditions. Unbalance correction takes place directly in the machine – without accommodating and removing the core assembly. After that, the residual unbalance of the turbocharger is so low that it almost matches the quality level of a new charger. As high-frequency background noise arises during the high-speed balancing of turbochargers, the TBsonio was equipped with active sound-proofing measures, so that its operating level drops below 70 dB.
Both crane-hook machines can be set up and repositioned with minimum effort. They need neither foundations nor screwing into the floor and are ready for use immediately after alignment.
