Innovative, award-winning products by Dürr
June 2013 – At the Hannover Messe, Dürr presented engineered environmental and filling systems. The displayed systems increase energy efficiency and process quality.
For the Dürr business unit, Clean Technology Systems, the appearance at the Hannover Messe trade fair from April, 8 to 12, 2013, paid off nicely with intensive dialog with a large number of customers. Additionally, in the frame of the major trade fair "IndustrialGreenTec" in Hannover, the Dürr Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) module for cogeneration received an award by the magazine "Nachhaltige Produktion" in the "Energy engineering and environmental technology" category.
The Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) process uses industrial waste-heat sources to generate electricity with the aid of an evaporation process. Dürr successfully developed this technology further so that residual heat can now be used after the production of electricity, for example, for heating buildings.
Clean Technology Systems was represented at the Hannover Messe for the first time together with all its business partners (Dürr Cyplan, HeatMatrix, thermea). As an added benefit, customers from various industries, among them numerous production site planners, were very interested in the energy-efficient technologies.
In his presentation, Jochen Fink, the managing director of Dürr Cyplan, introduced the wide range of Dürr products in the sector of energy efficiency. He informed visitors about additional Dürr technologies such as the Compact Power System (micro-gas turbine), ORC, heat exchangers, and heat pumps. These technologies use excess process heat and waste heat along with conventional and alternative fuels to transfer energy or to convert it to electricity.
At the VW trade booth, Dürr Somac was present as a partner company with their innovative systems for initial filling of vehicles in final assembly. In the new generation of their ProLine series, this sophisticated system reliably prevents any leakage. These line filling systems, which deal with some aggressive media, not only ensure high safety standards, but also maximize environmental protection.
The Dürr Somac fuel filling systems extract and properly dispose of unavoidable vapors. The fuel filling system shown in Hannover improves the working conditions in the assembly workshop. In addition to ergonomic optimization, the fuel filling system also offers increased process quality. At the customer's request, energy consumption monitoring facilities are available for the filling systems which allow for early detection of any deviations in the energy consumption and taking of appropriate countermeasures.
