More robots and training rooms
September 2013 – More robots and training rooms: Dürr has extended its Training Center at its Bietigheim headquarters in response to the increased demand for training courses.
This investment enables customer requests for different technical issues, such as paint or sealing, to be better met in the training courses offered. Combinations of the process and robot programming plus training courses on maintenance and system operation are possible. The Paint and Sealing Test Center on the Bietigheim site can also be incorporated in the training courses if required and if available.
Two sealing robots – the EcoRS 16 and EcoRS 60 – are new to the robot zone. This is our acknowledgement of the increased demand for training courses in this field. Both are fitted with application, dosing technology and tempering systems.
The control systems of existing robot stations have been upgraded, and various conveying concepts such as line or rail tracking and stop & go can be used. A broad spectrum of the robot types from the EcoRP and EcoRS series is covered here. Course attendees can also work with various controller generations. The training equipment has been supplemented with new training models of the EcoLCC2 color changer and the EcoBell3 performance test stand. Laptops which run the EcoScreen 3D-OnSite visualization and programming software are also available for the attendees to use. Thus, Dürr ensures that the training courses are effective and realistic.
The expansion means that 1300 m2 of space instead of the previous 840 m2 is now available. The number of training rooms has been increased from six to nine. They are of varying sizes, to take account of different course types and subjects. The committed team in the Training Center is currently made up of 15 trainers, and others are to be added. They bring a variety of qualifications with them: electrical engineering, control technology, mechatronics, engineering, surface technology and engineering education. The courses are held in German and English; if required, interpreters are used for other languages.
Dürr has opened new training centers on other sites this year, namely in São Paulo (Brazil) und Querétaro (Mexico). Two others are planned in the US and China.
