New machines for the Chinese market
September 2012 – At their customer day held in Shanghai on June 28 and 29, Somac presented two new machines, which were specifically developed for the Chinese market. The CompLine and Compact C were demonstrated and explained to 70 visitors representing 16 companies from the automotive industry.
On the first day, the visitors learnt about the new technologies and Somac’s service activities. Further topics included an outlook at filling equipment in Europe and the environmentally friendly refrigerant R1234yf, which has been compulsory for use in all new passenger car models and light commercial vehicles in the EU since last year. Experts predict that this refrigerant will soon be used in China as well. Somac’s customers were told that it requires special filling equipment. It is not possible to retrofit the existing machines.
The opening speech was given by Peter Legner, Head of Schenck Shanghai Machinery (SSM). He gave an update, among other things, on the construction of the new production facilities in Shanghai. Bernd Preißler, Managing Director of Dürr Somac, and Frank Gijsen, General Manager of Filling at SSM, also addressed the audience. New developments were presented by Xuewei Wang, Sales Director of Filling at SSM.
The new machines were the focus of the second day. In addition to other Somac products, employees also demonstrated the Compact C. This mobile station was specifically developed for the Chinese market. It is aimed at local customers who require larger filling systems with more spacious displays.
The CompLine is used in faster assembly lines. It is a compact, modular line filling station that requires no control cabinet or base unit next to the line, thereby making it efficient and cost-effective.
